Starting from July 2024, the embassy’s mobile consular team will visit various cities, including Palermo, Ancona, and Casalmaggiore, to offer a range of services. These services will include passport renewals, biometric data collection, and assistance with other consular documentation. By bringing these services closer to the communities, the embassy aims to eliminate the need for Ghanaians to travel long distances to Rome, thereby saving them time and resources.
Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong together with Ambassador Merene Benyah recently in a meeting with the Ghanaian community at Brescia highlighted the importance of these outreach services, stating, “We recognize the challenges our citizens face in accessing consular services, particularly those who live far from Rome. Our goal is to bring these services closer to them, ensuring their needs are addressed promptly and efficiently.”
Residents have expressed their appreciation for the resumption of these services, noting the convenience and relief it brings, especially in managing critical documents and applications without the hassle of long travels.
The embassy encourages all Ghanaians in Italy to take advantage of these outreach programs. Detailed schedules and locations will be communicated through the embassy’s official website and social media channels. This initiative underscores the embassy’s commitment to serving its citizens and strengthening the connection between Ghana and its diaspora in Italy.
